this is what long covid feels like [CW: body horror illustration, occasional art nudity]

Symptom: Post-Laparoscopic Insufflation CO2 & Referred Pain

Manila bookmark with human figure drawn in vibrant tertiary colors, their outline is drawn in layered minimal curved lines and lime green. Their stomach has pale lavender significant bulging and strain lines. Within it are neon pink sharp straight lines, like a bunch of sticks in a pile. Where the gallbladder should be is a teal dashed outline, and in the same teal the shoulder has layered bursting. Coming out of the figure’s would-be mouth is a purple spiral and pop like a burp or hiccup. The background is a much less vibrant medium blue, a mix of textures, criss crossed hatched lines, then blurry watery effects. At first it almost seems like a relaxing pool, but the crossed line texture becomes more apparent, it starts to give an itchy, clinical, medical / surgical drape vibe. At the top of the bookmark in the memo section like green handwriting reads “post-laparoscopic insufflation CO2 & referred pain”
